When she was 14, CMAT always wanted to cover Kate Bush's "Wuthering Heights".

At 28, she finally did it.  And she sang the hell out of it.  

7 October 2025 - Lights - Ratchet Happy Birthday

This was so amazing, I had to do an emergency post as soon as I heard it for the first time.  

Because Lights covering Drake - and she covered the entire Side B of his Scorpion album - is just incredible. It's pretty, and melodic.... and I have no words.   

6 October 2025 - Pia Mia - The Book of Love

Pia Mia was 14 when she recorded this Magnetic Fields cover.  

And because we're doing a thing on the other blog, we're featuring this lo-fi acapella cover here.  

Because that's what we do.

We want to take a moment and wish every Canadian a very Happy Canada Day.

This is why we have Alessia Cara - a Canadian - covering Alanis Morissette's huge hit on the occasion of her 2022 induction into the Canadian Songwriter's Hall of Fame.  This song was written by Morissette and Glen Ballard.

 

Yes, Alessia Cara even plays the harmonica. This cover is spectacular.

A LOT of people like to cover Led Zeppeliln.  

These KIDS pull off Jimmy Page's guitar solo.  

It's incredible to watch.  Right up there with the Cleveland School of Rock house band, honestly.  

21 March 2025 - Great Big Sea - Run Runaway

Newfoundland and Labrador folk group Great Big Sea covered a Slade classic as their debut single, and it ended up being a pretty big hit.  

It was a Scottish-tinged rock anthem, and while Great Big Sea make it a little folkier, it still retains the Scottish feel.  

Now hear them do it live.   They make folk.... rock.   For what they essentially make into a sea shanty, this song really kicks ass.
